Heading for Home Free

Myers is getting the car seat adjusted so our little guy will fit...he's grown since his first trip home :)...
...and I didn't get to write any more, because we were too busy leaving the hospital!
-----
We are home now, since early afternoon. It is good. So, so good.
Neutrophils were zero today, but that's apparently okay - since we know (because of the bone marrow biopsy) that his bones are making neutrophils the doctor feels confident that watching him via clinic visits will be sufficient.
If he gets sick it will land us back in the hospital, but if we are careful and wash hands and keep him away from people we know are sick then hopefully we can keep him well. We are not quarantined or in a bubble, just extra cautious.
All he needs is time for the antibody proteins to get "used up"
(they die every time they take out a neutrophil) or die off (they only last so long and eventually they all die off and will be completely gone (it can take 2-6 months).
He most likely has quite a bit of antibodies, as my system supposedly made even more antibodies this time around (each pregnancy apparently I make more antibodies). So my hopes and prayers are centered on Arthur staying well, on us being aware right away should any sickness strike him, and on the antibodies getting out of him fast!
I'm trying to fell okay about this ...It's not what I want for my little guy...and our past history doesn't help us feel settled.. We will try to trust our doctor and try to make sure we are doing everything we can to protect him, but until this tentative time has past we can't avoid feeling uneasy... So I'm glad, really glad to have Arthur home, but we will really be celebrating when he receives his first report of steady neutrophils in the normal level range.
So we are home, just not yet home free...but that is the direction we are headed.
A whole lotta love here.
