Bone marrow biopsy today at 1:45. Doctors now feel need to find out if his marrow is doing everything correctly. I'm hoping and praying that this test simply confirms alloimmune neutropenia and nothing else.
Results should all be in by Thursday or Friday. He just had his last bit of milk that he is allowed until after (this is because of the anesthesia he will have)
Platelets down to 45 today. She doesn't think it is the antibiotics because her research did not show these antibiotics cause platelet drops as a side affect. His infection as cause is still on the table. Goodness I hope it's something like that.
Waiting for today's neutrophil count to return. We expect no change. Will report neutrophil count when we post after biopsy today.
In other news, they are going to consult about taking him off one of the antibiotics. As the antibiotics apparently can actually affect the neutrophils (very small chance of that but still worth noting as a possibility). They will decide which one will go first.
Lillian was a little needy again when Myers dropped her off (asking him to hold her and sit with her for a moment. very, very uncharacteristic of her...to the degree of she has never done that since going to preschool). She did kick him out as soon as they started. The longing I feel to be home with her and my whole family is painful.
Lastly, my flowers are back. According to the doctors, the nurse was wrong and that is a disproven, old idea, that the flowers could cause problems for people who are neutropenic. Go figure.
Arthur is two weeks old today! He continues to appear like a normal, healthy, content little baby (except for the gassy tummy at times..but again that's normal baby stuff).
Lots and lots of love to you all!!! You are always in my thoughts and prayers.

I've been reading updates on your blog - hope the bone marrow is going well. I have information about pediatric neutropenia that I can send you, if you want to do some "light reading". Miss you guys.
